This is a typical example of the Chinese Jian sword, as used during the "Boxer Rebellion", just found in an old attic. Although of similar design no two are exactly alike. This example measures 34 1 2" in overall length with a massive 28 " blade bearing a single fuller down each side. The grip is a simple wood design, with an iron pommel and a circular thick iron cross guard, which is loose due to the grip shrinking.
